In the loss to the Bluejays, the Mavericks displayed strong play in the first half, going into intermission at 0-0. The Mavs, however, were outshot by Creighton in the second half 13-2 and UNO eventually fell 1-0. Redshirt freshman forward Logan Mendez produced UNO’s only two shots on goal in the contest.

This weekend, UNO starts the regular season against the Bellevue University Bruins. The game will be played at the UNO Soccer Field on 68th and Spring Streets in Omaha at 5pm.

On the women’s side, UNO is coming off a 4-0 loss to the Cyclones of Iowa State. The Mavs were out shot in the game 18-1 by Iowa State. It was a rough game for true freshman goalkeeper Meghan Clark, as she gave up four goals on 18 shots from the Cyclones.

UNO is looking to bounce back this weekend with two games. The first is tonight against Missouri State University at 6pm in Springfield, Missouri. UNO’s second game of the weekend is against Utah State University Sunday at noon. The game will be played at UNO Soccer Field.
